Matt is an experienced education leader, writer, consultant, speaker, and trainer.He is the author of several books including the Amazon best-sellers 'Leadership for Learning', 'The IQ Myth', and 'The Art of Public Speaking'. He also edited the Amazon best-seller 'SPaG Book'. His latest book is 'Teach'. Between 2013 and 2016 he was Group Director of Teaching and Learning for the Derby College Group and the DCET multi-academy trust, a £60m organisation. He was responsible for improving the quality of teaching for 30,000 students across Derby and Derbyshire (during his tenure, the Ofsted judgment improved from 'requires improvement' to 'good' with outstanding features). He was a member of the Executive Board reporting to the CEO. He was also an academy school governor.
