Tricia Murphy
Tricia is an eminent author, trainer, lecturer and educationalist. She was formerly head of the Special Educational Needs Support Service (SENSS) in north Lincolnshire. The February 2002 Ofsted report on the SENSS commented: “The service fully conforms to the principles of best value.” In November 2003, she won Business Link Humber’s ‘Woman of Achievement in the Public Sector’ award.
Books and papers Tricia has written include ‘Differentiation Your Responsibility’, ‘Individual Educational Plans’ and ‘Maths Vocabulary Profile’. She is a past president of the National Association for Remedial Education and has lectured both nationally and internationally. In 2003-04 she was national president of NASEN (National Association for Special Educational Needs), and she has worked for the Beacon Council.
Tricia has worked in most aspects of SEN, including primary, secondary mainstream and MLD/PH/EBD/PMLD. Internationally, she has worked for the British Council in Kuching, Malaysia, and been a consultant to the British School in Stavanger, Norway and the Western Academy in Beijing, China.
Tricia has delivered outstanding keynote sessions at Osiris SEN conferences and has developed many excellent courses with Osiris Educational: ‘Struggling Mathemeticians’, ‘SEN: Better Diagnosis, Better Differentiation’, ‘SEN Green Paper 2011′, ‘New to SENCo’, ‘Supporting SEN’ and ’Ready for Ofsted: Education Law in Schools’.
