The Mindsets tour is now in full swing, as events in Manchester and Birmingham signal an empowering first week.
With two more events coming up in London next week, we thought it was worth doing a quick summary of what’s been going on so far.
With over 200 delegates this week and over 450 next week at our Mindsets Conference and Growth Mindsets Convention, the Mindsets tour is making a real impact. We’ve has keynote presentations from Professor Barry Hymer, Will Ord, Alison Peacock, as well as Professor Carol Dweck herself. They have discussed Carol’s decades of research, it’s implications in the classroom and the opportunities for teachers around the globe to implement and benefit from her theory.
For those who don’t know, as well as holding professorships at Harvard and Columbia Universities, Professor Carol Dweck is the Lewis and Virginia Eaton Professor of Psychology at Stanford University. Her research into Mindsets and theory of growth and fixed mindsets has radicalised the way people teach, learn and think.

Her theory of human intelligence is simple but powerful: it has the capacity to change even the most determinedly grounded of opinions. Dweck informs us that we are not born with a fixed level of intelligence, we grow it in direct relation to how much, and how well, we use it. She provides the science behind: “There’s no such thing as can’t”
