The Osiris Visible World Learning Conference Rocks London and Twitter

Leading educators and academics have come together today at the Osiris Visible Learning World Conference to share their renowned knowledge and research as they champion school improvements across the globe.

What a great success!

One delegate pronounced excitedly:

‘It is like watching a rock concert but all the rock stars are from Education.’

Her comment was insightful. The buzz surrounding Professor John Hattie’s keynote was reminiscent of an excited audience arriving to see Mark Rylance perform at the Globe Theatre. The enthusiasm was contagious.

With the emphasis on sharing knowledge and unlocking Visible Learning as a world education movement, Twitter also played a key part. #VLWORLD2016 was trending across the UK; the conference has become a social media hit!

Professor John Hattie was not alone in his popularity. Professor Mick Waters also proved to be a popular choice with the delegates for ‘The Learning Arena’ keynote and Shirley Clarke demonstrated yet again what an eloquent, inspirational and knowledgeable speaker she is during her session on feedback and marking.

All the case study schools did a brilliant job sharing so many practical ideas that can be put into practice on your first day back in the classroom.

In addition there have been so many superb concepts and motivating quotes it is impossible to list them all.

Early in the day Professor John Hattie said ‘We love to talk about the things that don’t matter. What really matters is the teachers working together.’ And that is what today was about; Collaboration, Quality & Impact.

If you missed any of the sessions or were unable to be at this incredible conference in person, you can watch a clip from John Hattie’s keynote here.

Don’t forget you can see Professor Mick Waters at the Building Character Conference 2016 and Professor John Hattie at the much awaited Leadership Conference 2016

Rounding off an exhilarating day we will all be treated to the launch of Professor John Hattie’s latest book ‘Visible Learning into Action’.
