If you’ve been following the hashtag (#WorldBookDay) or looked at just about any educational news site, you’ll know that 3rd March 2016 is World Book Day. Judging by what’s happening on Twitter, there’s lots of teachers and pupils celebrating by dressing up as their favourite characters.
However, if your school isn’t recreating a scene from the Great Hall in Hogwarts or standing a couple of feet taller dressed as the Cat in the Hat then do not fear, we’ve dug into the archives to find a few posts from the past to get your literary juices flowing.
Last year, Graham Tyrer wrote one of our most popular posts of all time as he discussed his relationship with Literacy and it’s importance both in his youth and now.
To celebrate International Literacy day in 2014, we asked some of our colleagues and presenters what their favourite books were and why. Have you read them all? Did we miss a classic? Let us know @osirisedu and we’ll get it updated!
For Everybody Writes Day in 2012, we put together some resources (courtesy of @wallaceisabella) to get everybody writing.
We’ve also got some great Roald Dahl quotes to put up in your classroom. Click on the links below to download
Don’t forget, we want to hear your World Book Day highlights. Send us a tweet or a photo to @osirisedu
