Dr Liz Henning
An extensively experienced mathematics and behavioural management trainer, Liz is at the forefront of educational change and delivers training across primary, secondary and university levels.
With a career spanning more than 30 years in mathematics education, Liz has worked as both a senior leader and a mathematics leader. The Northern England Director for the Mathematics Enhancement Programme (MEP) and a regional coordinator for the National Centre for Excellence in the Teaching of Mathematics (NCETM), Liz has also served as a local authority advisory teacher.
A NCETM accredited professional development lead for both primary and secondary phases, Liz has taken the lead on numerous initiatives nationwide, leading projects on lesson study, mathematics leadership and RQT support.
Liz uses practical approaches in her training to support teachers and TAs in making maths more interesting and meaningful. She encourages the use of specific questioning techniques to develop reasoning and elicit deep conceptual understanding.
Liz is deeply passionate about promoting confidence across the phases, among teachers, parents and pupils alike. With a track record of raising achievement in the subject, her training ensures that all delegates will leave with a heightened appreciation for maths and the tools necessary to promote Maths Mastery among their pupils.
