Will Ord

His innovative techniques saw RE rocket to the most popular subject in his school, with 170 pupils taking it at GCSE. On average, exam results were 10% higher in this than in any other subject.
Delegates on Will’s courses have said he made the day exciting and touched on real issues. His enthusiasm for his subject area is so infectious it can lead to an RE epidemic! He is also a passionate advocate of Thinking Skills in education and trains teachers in the benefits of P4C (Philosophy for Children) to benefit individuals and communities across the curriculum.
Will has worked as a secondary school teacher, head of RE, deputy head of sixth form, author, writer for the TES and school governor. He is now Professional Officer for ACT (Association for Citizenship Teaching) and works as an educational consultant. He is chair of SAPERE (Society for Advancement of Philosophical Enquiry and Research in Education).
For the past four years he has been involved in Citizenship education, working for the DfES, the QCA, LEAs, the Citizenship Foundation and other educational organisations.
