Dee Reid

Dee Reid qualified as a teacher in 1974 and is now a freelance lecturer leading courses and INSET days throughout the UK. Formerly she worked at the Reading and Language Information Centre at Reading University, where she completed an MA in Children’s Literature and undertook an investigation into the written vocabulary of children aged 7-8. This research was published in a book, ‘Word for Word’ (L.D.A.).

She is consultant to ‘Catch Up’, a highly successful literacy intervention programme for struggling readers in years 2-6.

Dee has been involved in many publications. She is series editor of ‘Storyworlds’ (Heinemann), ‘Literacy World’ (Heinemann) and ‘Think About it’ for ‘Wellington Square’ (Stanley Thornes), and co-author of Oxford University Press’ ‘Spelling Kits’. She is working on a series of books for the Foundation Stage called ‘Starting with Role Play’ (Hopscotch Books).
