Description
Key Outcomes
Sharp focus: unpick the complexity in your school system
Teaching and learning models: effectiveness and relevance
Know what works and how to scale it up
Understand the high-probability areas for your development cycle
Impact: how to understand and what to measure
Future development: establish a clear baseline
The Process
A series of three professional learning days over four months
Engage with high-impact practices from the Visible Learning research
Collect evidence of the extent these practices are present
Produce a first leadership impact cycle
Leadership Impact Cycles
Align focus in the school through a series of leadership impact cycles
Combine evidence with data for a first leadership impact cycle
Further cycles will inform strategic decision-making
Ensure a joined-up learning journey
Leadership Impact Cycle Goals
All learners make at least one year’s progress for one year’s input
Every child gets great teaching by design, not by chance
Visible Learning Foundations Day | 5th February 2020
Unpick the five key strands of Visible Learning and relate them directly to the Visible Learning research base.
Evidence into Action 1 Day | 26th February 2020
Examine evidence from your school. Look at the process of evidence-gathering, explore evaluation tools, relate
evidence directly to the Visible Learning matrix and develop a much clearer picture of what is really working in
your school.
Evidence into Action 2 Day | 3rd June 2020
Twelve weeks later, explore the full picture created by robust evidence base. Working with a range of schools,
you will develop an action plan for your first impact cycle drawing on Visible Learning strands and internal and
external evidence bases.
Day 4 Optional
One year later the school leaders meet again to analyse evidence from the first implementation cycle. This day
brings a brisk robustness to Visible Learning and a deep understanding of evidence-gathering and the power of
impact cycles.
